If the storm is near you, make sure to take shelter indoors

I think that church is in NC too. Probably gonna be lots of wind and rain.

Ehh its not even raining here in NJ. Same thing when Jose came by, just a sprinkle and light breeze. I should probably go check out the ocean though, probably looks pretty gnarly.

Are you sure the Eastern Seaboard can take all of that?

forecast over here has it hitting ireland with upto hurican force winds sometime next week (50% chance of it ruining the weather for a while where i am)
course... its more than a day away so odds are they are way off.... but still... monster of a storm

Nah, it’s alright. You’re just more excited about the storm than me.

Good. I remember the 1-2 punch of Irene and Sandy.

I doubt it will get more than 10-12 foot swells. That’s double overhead, totally doable.

It decimated puerto rico. Ireland is a tad bit larger than Puerto Rico and cold water tends to take the punch out.

Really? I thought it was a time lapse color coded graphical image of a NOAA forecast for Hurricane Maria that just happened to look like a penis 100x the size of Florida.

Got a lot of surfers over here in RI. They’re out there doin’ their thing.

yea i know..forecast still says upto hurricane force gusts (my bad for using winds... it wont be sustained) and before getting to ireland its supposed to merge with lee
but yeah.. it will just be really shit weather here if it hits.. nothing like puerto rico got
but still ariving a lot stronger than they usually do (if the forecasts right)

Yeah, those were rough. Interesting how crazy Irene was for places inland. That one was more about the rain and wind. Whereas Sandy was all storm surge. Even up in Vermont they got it bad from Irene in some floodprone areas.

Looks like we should be getting the edge of storm - not raining here now but humid as hell.

*looks at Florida*
That’s not a penis ...
*whips out hurricane*
... that’s a penis.

Oh don’t act like you’re not impressed...
I live on the coast of VA and it hasn’t been bad at all, just a bit rainy on and off, and breezy as hell. The extent of damage we’ve had so far was just the loss of a gutter downspout, and a bunch of small tree branches.

It should be plenty moist, which will help.

I was just in the outer banks (Hatteras Island) last week and got to experience Jose. The actually evacuated the islands for Maria. I can only imagine what it must be like. Jose had road closures and pervasive flooding, and that wasn’t nearly as bad.

Could really use some solid rain here though. Hasn’t rained any good amount in something going on 4 weeks and with 90 deg highs my plants are suffering and the grass seed I planted when it was in 70s a few weeks ago is fucked.

Yep. Definitely, 100%, without a doubt a schlong.

They built it like that to avoid the large tree. You know because an L shape would be too difficult.

I’m on the Outer Banks. Not much to speak of on this end of the beach. Breezy. Couple downed sticks and a lot of pine straw around the yard. I think south of here around Rodanthe to Hatteras they’ve had some overwash from the storm surge. Ended up not being much of a storm. Didn’t rain nearly as much as I thought it was supposed to.
